My Baby Is Getting Big

Logan turned 9 months old this past Tuesday (May 11th). He has done several new things this week!!

He has not really been trying to crawl because he just rolls where ever he wants to go. Once he gets to a place he doesn't want to be anymore, he just lies on his stomach and turns himself in the direction he wants go and rolls again. It is kind of funny to watch. Well, this week he has started crawling a little. It looks like a military style crawl, but it is a start!

On Monday he started sitting himself up from a laying down position. He is very proud of himself. When he sits up, he starts clapping.

He also started feeding himself. We will lay his food or snacks out and he picks it up and puts it in his mouth! He also ate rice for the first time this week and he loved it! He made a huge mess in the restaurant. There was rice all over the floor, but the rice kept him quiet and happy!

He loves to stand up. Of course he doesn't have his balance just quite yet, so we have to hold his hands. This week he started taking several good steps at once when you hold his hands. He really wants to walk.

On Thursday I took Logan to my parent’s house before I went to work. When I was leaving for work, Logan told me "bye-bye" and waved!! I don't know if he actually knew what he was doing/saying, but it made my day!

Because Logan kept pulling himself up into a standing position in his bed, we had to lower his crib mattress. It was kind of exciting, but kind of sad at the same time. He is getting big so quickly.

What an exciting week!!

My First Mother's Day

Logan is one of the most precious gifts God has given me. I am so thankful to be his mommy!!

I have had a great Mother's Day!! This morning Chris and Logan gave me my Mother's Day present. It was a beautiful "Love's Embrace, Mother & Child" necklace. I love it!! I also got a sweet card too.

We started the day off by going to church. After church was over we went to my parents house and ate lunch. We celebrated Mother's day and my Dad's birthday (which was yesterday) at their house.

After leaving their house we came home for about an hour and then we left again. We went to dinner with Chris's mom to celebrate Mother's day with her as well. On the way home from eating Logan laughed the whole way home...20 minutes! I was able to catch some of it:

I love hearing that sweet laugh! I smiled and laughed the whole way home. What a perfect way to end such a great day.

It's Baseball Time!!

Chris is coaching Austin's 13-15 year old baseball team this year and my dad is the assistant coach. This is Chris's first year to be a head coach. I don't think many people realize how much time is put into being a head coach. It takes a lot of work...it's almost like a part-time job. Chris is doing a great job though!! He and my dad seem to enjoy coaching together. Hopefully they are getting lots of practice for when Logan is old enough to play ball!!

The team had a double header scheduled today at Drakes Creek. Since the flood ruined the ballpark, they had to move the games to Donelson. Logan, Granna, and I made a trip out to watch the game. This was Logan's first full ballgame. He loved being at the ballpark and watching all the kids. I am sure there will be many more ballpark days ahead for us....at least we hope so!

Oh Boy...

Well, I put Logan in his crib today so that I could go the bathroom to throw something away. I was only gone maybe 20 seconds. When I came back in his room this is what I found....

So...I ran and got my camera and this is what came next:

Yep, he is standing in his crib. He was very proud of himself!

Looks like it is time for us to lower the crib!!
